Lots of folks have been asking about the status of the implementation of AB 920, a bill sponsored by Environment California to require payment for net surplus compensation for net metered systems.
Short answer: after lots and lots of filings (follow comments here) it’s currently on the Commission’s agenda for May 5.
See items 31 and 31a–there’s the Administrative Law Judge’s Proposed Decision, which would value generation on a short-run basis (around 5 cents/kWh), and President Peevey’s Alternate Decision, which would value generation on a long-run basis (10-13 cents/kWh)–a fairer outcome, in our opinion.
