Field of expertise is communication, public relations and marketing strategy and how it drives measurable business outcomes. Describe your journey to where you are today and when you realized you wanted to work in clean tech.
I have dedicated my career to cleantech. The moment I heard the word ‘cleantech’ from a friendly recruiter at a networking event post-grad school, my fate was sealed. Nearly 15-years later, I have never once looked back nor considered switching industries. Cleantech is my home; its community my tribe; its purpose my passion. My journey looks like this: after earning two degrees in communication and public relations, as well as gaining professional experience living abroad, I settled back home in the Bay Area to join the cleantech movement. I have had the honor of working with some of the best people in the space at some of the most innovative and disruptive companies. After earning my stripes at a premier cleantech agency, I took a promising solar startup global and through an IPO at my first in-house job. Now, I am focused again on client services, this time as principal consultant of my own firm.
What does your company do, for who, and how does it fit into the bigger picture of solving global issues with clean tech?
Cleantech Communication, Inc., shares cleantech stories with the world. We are a consultancy driven by a passion for clean technologies, supporting disruptive cleantech companies of all sizes across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Through strategic marketing communication programs, our clients realize their brand visibility and company positioning goals while also acquiring marketing-qualified leads. We understand the critical importance of awareness and education when it comes to cleantech adoption. Our mission is to ensure everyone is aware of their clean energy options and educated about what’s possible for them – whether they are part of an industry/company or as an individual.
Do you have a motto or personal quote you love?
“Dwell in possibility” by Emily Dickinson is one of my favorites. It’s a reminder to me that
abundance is the nature of the universe and scarcity thinking only holds back human potential.
My favorite grad-school professor had a great one too that’s shaped my strategic approach to
communication. “We must always first ask, who’s my audience and what’s my purpose?”
What do you wish you could tell the younger you – what would’ve been incredibly helpful to you ten years ago?
Volunteer more. So many incredible organizations can use a helping hand, and generosity is the
open door to abundance.
