A new iPhone application offers a ‘try before you buy’ simulation experience to those interested in electric vehicles.
The iEV application promises to show whether an electric car is able to fulfill the prospective driver’s mobility needs and the best type of vehicle to meet his or her specific driving needs.
iEV is designed by UK-based DotTribes, a startup software development company run by Guillermo Acilu, a software engineer with more than 15 years of experience in the software industry. The company’s first product for iPhone and iPod Touch was the Green Discovery Engine, which was launched in March 2010.
DotTribes says that its unique, scientifically approved algorithm calculates the most important factors related to driving an electric vehicle. The software also gives users the opportunity to make specific configurations.
These include simulating an electric vehicle and its feedback while driving a regular fuel vehicle. Users can also learn approximately which is the right electric car battery capacity for their needs, which is crucial when choosing a battery and could save the potential buyer a lot of money.
The iEV application is available from the Apple store.
