Describe your journey to where you are today.
In 2000, built an electric Porsche 944 that earned the 240 V SC/B world electric vehicle racing record. Cofounder of Tesla and its “5th employee” in 2004. Chief Technology Officer (CTO) from 2004 until the middle of 2019.
At Tesla, oversaw the technical and engineering design of the vehicles and energy products. Responsible for new technology evaluation, research and development, technical diligence review of key vendors and partners, IP, and systems validation testing.
Founded Redwood Materials in 2017 to focus on battery recycling and e-waste recycling.
