The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) recently announced that it is no longer accepting new reservation requests for its solar incentive. In its announcement, LADWP cited strong demand for rebates which has exceeded their current budget for the program.
LADWP will not accept new reservation requests for at least 90 days from 11:59 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011. Confirmed reservations and those applications with a postmark date no later than April 8th will continue to be processed normally.
It also appears that processing of applications is delayed as LADWP’s website indicated that as of February 14, 2011, LADWP was processing applications received on October 21, 2010.
According to LADWP, between 1999 and April 1, 2011, over $117 million in incentives have been provided to commercial and residential customers, enabling nearly 29 MW of solar power to help power Los Angeles.
