Primus Green Energy has inaugurated a new US$7 million demonstration plant in Hillsborough, NJ. The event was attended by politicians and industry representatives.
The company develops an alternative fuel, a kind of non-petroleum type of gasoline that does not require engine modifications and overhauls in fuel delivery infrastructure. The new demonstration plant was designed to showcase the flexibility of Primus Green Energy technology in terms of both feedstock and end product.
Initially the plant will use natural gas as a feedstock, but the plans are later to replace it with biomass such as wood pellets and energy plant crops. The end products will include a high quality, high octane gasoline that the company says is virtually identical to gasoline produced from petroleum as well as jet fuel.
