I have been fortunate enough to be part of a fantastic journey through my professional career and now to be part of the exciting development of solutions to electrify the future.
What is your field of expertise?
I have a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Technology and more than 30 years of experience within the subsea and land high voltage cable and installation industry.
Describe your journey to where you are today.
I have been working in different parts of Nexans for three decades. Our industry has been developing to adjust to the demands of the markets. It is not a choice to work in clean tech, it is a necessity to bring clean energy to the world in order to achieve the goals we are all committed to.
What does your company do, for whom, and how does it fit into the bigger picture of solving global issues with clean tech?
Nexans is the only pure electrification player in the world. Our vision is to Electrify the Future. We cover the entire electrical value chain from energy generation and transmission, to distribution and usage. At each stage, we are a global specialist. We play an active role in the transition to sustainable energy, and innovate every day to make a cleaner future a reality in generation and transmission. Our focus is export cables to OWF as well as interconnectors as a backbone structure to electrify the world.
What do you think is the most important thing we can be doing in terms of clean tech solutions?
The most important thing we can do is to continuously be dedicated, forward leaning to always develop our solutions and services to serve the ever evolving market. The challenges ahead are huge and require strong focus on research and development (R&D) and innovation, always having the environmental footprint in mind.
