An increasing number of people use tablet computers these days, adding to the high demand on energy caused by our digital tools. But one company has come up with a solar powered solution to reduce energy consumption from the grid and tap it from the sun instead.
Created by Wireless NRG, the original makers of NRG Touch and Power Pouch, the KudoCase generates clean solar energy for iPad as well as cell phones, PDA, MP3 players and other small electronic devices.
Besides, the case is made of corn-based biodegradable plastic while the panels will absorb light from both external and internal sources. In terms of duration, the power generated will top up the iPad for about 10 days before it will require recharging from a socket, if you use it for two hours a day.
So, if you are an iPad user, the KudoCase could make your tablet experience a little less taxing on the environment. And it seems like lots of people have given it a positive nod, since at the time of writing this article the product was out of stock from Wireless NRG’s website, although more units have been ordered and should be available from May 31st.
