If you are planning to buy a new appliance or carry out some home improvement, or even retrofitting to make your home more energy efficient, you may want to check out a new web tool that searches for rebates in your area.
Hosted by Ennovationz, a Silicon Valley startup that connects consumers to green and energy efficient providers, the tool produces a list of local energy efficiency rebates. Ennovationz says savings will range from $25 to $1,500, depending on the item and local programs.
The company says it has a database of over 8000 incentives, including tax credits, state programs, utility rebates, subsidized financing and others. These are offered by nearly 850 providers across the country.
Back in July 2010, Ennovationz was on one of the 15 teams selected to receive U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) funding to help improve the energy efficiency of American homes. In total, the multidisciplinary teams selected by the DOE will receive up to $30 million for the initial eighteen months of the projects.
